The Foundation of a Healthy Building

The Foundation of a Healthy Building

Earlier this week, Carl Caruso (mCloud Director of Sales - Smart Facilities) spoke with Constructech about the implications of Sick Building Syndrome (sick buildings = sick people), and how AI, IIoT and tech can all be implemented to increase overall building health.

Sick Building Syndrome is a term used to describe situations when when a building's occupants experience health issues that appear to be directly linked to the time spent within that building. This can lead to a variety of concerns for both customers and workers, and can often be attributed to poor ventilation and poor air quality.  It is important to consider laying the groundwork for a healthy building, which should include factors such as good ventilation, proper indoor/outdoor air circulation, thermal health, moisture levels, proper dust and pest control,  HVAC maintenance and monitoring of systems before small issues become larger problems.
